Reminder of July 1, 2014 Benefits Changes

Health insurance premiums decrease slightly today due, in part, to the University increasing its contribution from 70% to 72%. Current rates are available in the 2014/2015 Benefits Guidebook on our website at
The $250 individual and $500 family deductible begins today. Click here for a summary of what you will pay for commonly used services/procedures. Those with the notation “No charge after deductible” are ones for which you will have to first meet the deductible before the service is available at no charge to you.
The out-of-pocket maximum which has previously run on a calendar year begins anew on July 1 and will run now on a plan year (July through June).
The IRS loosened the “use it or lose it” rule allowing you to carry medical FSA funds up to $500 over from one plan year to the next. You can check your balance online at
