Paintball Trip Saturday, Dec. 10

Join the Paintball Club this weekend for a day of fun games for players of any age or experience level.
The vans will depart at 10AM from the quad and will probably return around 4:30PM.  Cost will be determined based on number of participants, but will be between $15 and $25, which can be paid ahead of time or that morning.
Students can bring their own equipment or rent gear.  Students should bring snacks or a lunch and something to drink for the day.  They should wear comfortable clothing with closed-toed shoes. Pants and a sweatshirt or light jacket would be the best option.  Layering is a good idea because you can add or remove layers as the day progresses.  The paint has completely washed out in the past, but no promises.
In case you were wondering… Getting shot won’t cause any permanent damage, but depending on the range a student is shot from it can sting or even leave bruises.

Outing Club meeting Wednesday…See you there!

Attention, Outing Club members!

-Wilderness Ventures will be on campus on Tuesday, Nov 8th,  from 11AM-2PM in the Commons
-Moondance will be here on campus on Thursday, Nov 10th, 11AM-2PM
Both companies offer fantastic opportunities for outdoor leadership positions in the summer and many W&L students have either gone on trips or worked for them in the past.

House Mountain hike this weekend

Hey Everyone, we had a great time at Devil’s Marbleyard a couple of weeks ago. So, if you missed out on the fun, here is another opportunity. The leaves are changing, the weather is perfect and supposed to be perfect on Saturday… I think it is time for our annual Fall House Mountain hike. For those of you that do not know, House Mountain is a must do before you leave Washington and Lee. So come to the quad a 12:30PM on Saturday (if it rains we will probably just do a trail run on back campus, so come anyways dressed to run!). We will head to the parking lot at House Mountain and climb Big House. Depending on how long we spend up there, we are looking at being back around dinner time (5:30). But it could be a little sooner or later. Bring some water, some Outing Club friends and we will have a great time!

Cya on Saturday.

W&L Group Exercise introduces “Bring a Friend” Week

W&L Group Exercise classes offer a fun and healthy way for our campus and community to be active and lead balanced lives.  If you are already registered for the classes, you know how fun and energizing they can be!  Our goal is to get as many people in our community involved in group exercise as possible to make this campus a healthy and active one.
So for those of you that are currently registered, BRING A FRIEND to class the week of October 2–8!  If you bring a friend who is currently NOT registered for group ex classes, your name and your friend’s name will be entered into a drawing to win a FREE semester of group exercise classes for the next term.  This prize has a value of anywhere from $50 – $150 depending on who wins! Friends, find someone who attends group ex classes and ask if you can come check them out!
Just sign in at the table outside of the dance studio, and put your ticket in the jar to be entered in the raffle.  You may bring as many friends as you would like and your name will be entered into the drawing that many times!  You and your friend could win a free semester of classes and our community becomes healthier and more active together. It’s a win-win for W&L!
We hope to see you next week!
